For some time now I’ve been meaning to write about what I consider to be some of the best Belize deals for hotel accommodations. A list of top-ranked, relatively cheap hotels in Belize that are conveniently located and provide standard hotel amenities. Places that are great for travelers that want to experience an amazing Belize beach or jungle vacation on a small budget.

The 5 best cheap hotels in Belize
The list of cheap accommodations mentioned below offers a great bargain, allowing travelers to visit some of Belize’s top destinations without having to break the bank.
1. Tobacco Caye Paradise
Tobacco Caye Paradise offers rustic over-the-water bungalows that are painted in bright Caribbean colors. This cheap hotel on Tobacco Caye offers seclusion like no other. On any given day, give or take, the small island has a population of about just 25 people, plus how many travelers are residing in the handful of guest houses at the time.
2. Blue Tang Inn
Blue Tang Inn is one of the cheapest hotels on the beach in Ambergris Caye. It is located in the Boca del Rio area of downtown San Pedro, near many excellent dive shops and popular beach bars such as Wayo’s, The Palapa, and Sandy Toes. The hotel has several comfortable suites with modern condo amenities and a private beach and pool.
3. Belize Rainforest Retreat
Located near San Ignacio, the Belize Rainforest Retreat offers guests an affordable glamping-in-the-Belizean-jungle experience while still having access to many of Chaa Creek Resort’s complimentary luxury resort amenities. Lodging options at the retreat include 10 Eco-Pods located within a secluded area of the 400-acre Chaa Creek Nature Reserve.
4. Colinda Cabanas
For a long time, I’ve recommended Colinda’s Cabanas on this blog since they are a great affordable place to stay in Caye Caulker. Their beachfront cabanas are centrally located and provide basic, comfortable accommodations. Several amenities come with your stay, including the free use of bicycles, kayaks, and snorkel gear.
5. Belizean Nirvana
Belizean Nirvana offers affordable, simple, elegant and comfortable beachfront accommodations in the heart of Placencia. Visitors are only a stone-throw away from all the amenities of downtown Placencia. In fact, Belizean Nirvana is often rated as one of the best-located cheap hotels in Placencia.

Is Belize cheap to visit?
Compared to its Central American counterparts, Belize is not a cheap vacation destination. The reason being that the country has a very small population, it imports the vast majority of its goods, and as a former British colony, the British sterling monetary system was once in place. On the positive side, since not many people visit Belize, the country and its top attractions are not overrun by tourists.
